Monico P. Baca, age 76, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 with his loving family at his side.
Monico was born in Magdalena, NM on September 24, 1937 to Elfego and Demetria (Peralta) Baca.
Monico grew up in Riley, NM and later moved to Magdalena where he and his wife, Mary raised their three children. Monico enjoyed hunting and fishing. Monico retired from the County of Socorro Road Department after approximately 40 years of service.
Monico was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Gómez Baca, his parents and his sister, Theresa McBride.
Monico is survived by son, Edward Baca and Wanda García, his daughters, Melissa Baca and Yolanda Baca and Loren Oritz, his brother, Juan Baca and his wife, Bertha, sisters, Corine Gutiérrez and her husband, Jimmy, Grace Wagner and her husband, Bill, Velma Wolfel and her husband, Gus, Sarah Molina and her husband, Ramon, Mable Muñoz, Rita Monte and her husband, Daniel, Louella Rael and her husband, Ricky and Rose Aragón, grandchildren, Gabriel, Alfonso, Adam and Roxanne Sánchez, Jeffery, Adrianna, Krystal, Kyle, Javan and Gabrielle Baca and great-grandchildren, Monique and Brooklyn Baca, Chamille Ross, Melo McCain and Antonio Monico Guerrero.
Rosary to be recited on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Magdalena, NM with Mass of the Resurrection to follow at 9:00 a.m. with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Magdalena Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Monico's grandsons, Gabriel Sánchez, Alfonso Sánchez, Adam Sánchez, Jeffery Baca, Kyle Baca and Javan Baca. Honorary pallbearers are Malcolm McCain, Rod Aragón, Conrad Aragón and Gregorio Romero.
