KATY EMPLOYEE SUFFERS FATAL HEART ATTACK
"Ivy Glenn Wellborn, Katy shop employee, died earlier this morning at his home, 1510 Thornton Avenue. On retiring last night he complained of pleurisy but seemed in his usual health when he arose this morning. He prepared the fires and went to the bathroom where he suffered a fatal heart attack and was not discovered until about 7 o'clock this morning when his wife arose to prepare breakfast.
The funeral will be held at the Martin Funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 pm conducted by the Rev. C. D. Meade. Interment will be at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Wellborn is survived by his widow; 2 sons, Glenn W. Wellborn, 2905 Stevens and Harold Wellborn, El Paso, TX; two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Mathis, 09 S. 14th and Mrs. Ted Bayless, 901 Lincoln; six grand children and by one brother, W. W. Wellborn, Cantrell, IA.
Mr. Wellborn came to Parsons with his family in 1914 from Greentop, Mo. and soon thereafter secured employment in the M-K-T Association of Shop Employees and by his thoughtfullness and kindness to others made many friends. Pallbearers will be selected from his fellow employees in the boiler shops."
