Harriet Kearny Collier was the first daughter of ten children born to General Stephen Watts Kearny and his wife, Mary Preston Radford.

Harriet was united in marriage in 1855 in St. Louis, Missouri, to George Collier.

While both were traveling in Europe, Harriet passed away from pneumonia a few months after her husband, according to her death record. Their remains were brought back to the USA for interment with her parents.
