June Hanna, in her 1982 survey listing, reports that the grave monuments shows he died aged 18 months, and Christine Thacker also observed this. The concrete tablet headmarker for this grave has been painted white or gray and the inscription painted with black paint - however, the "8" in "18 MONTHS" may actually be a "3."

"LOUIS EDGAR BROOKS DEAD. // Louis Edgar, the thirteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. BROOKS, died at their residence, No. 1712 First avenue, at 7:45 o'clock last night, after an illness of cholera infantum. The funeral will take place fromt he house at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. The service will be conducted by I. F. GRIFFITH, pastor of Broad street Methodist church." [Columbus (GA) Enquirer-Sun newspaper, Friday, 19 MAY 1905, p. 6.]

"FUNERAL AND INTERMENT OF LITTLE LOUIS BROOKS // Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock the funeral of Louis Edgar, the thirteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. BROOKS, occurred from the residence at 1712 First avenue, the services being conducted by Rev. I .S. GRIFFITH. THe interment was in the Patrick burying ground." [Columbus (GA) Ledger newspaper, Sunday, 21 MAY 1905, p. 5.]

This grave is in the Old Section (June Hanna's Section 1), in the J. G. DAVIS lot at the north end of Row 5 - Mrs. J. G. DAVIS was sister of Louis' father, Edgar Schley BROOKS.
