William "Bill" Raymond Parker

William Raymond Parker, "Bill", 86, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 17, 2013, from causes incident to age.

Bill was born of goodly parents, Thomas Robert Parker and LaVern Elizabeth Stewart on September 12, 1927 in Ogden, Utah. He spent his early years in Clinton, Utah. He graduated from Davis High School in 1945, and in 1946 enlisted in the US Army, being stationed at Fort Loius, Washington. After returning home, he met and married Jean Stoddard in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 13, 1949. They are the parents of three children, Billie Jean Parker, Susanne (Dick) Garoutte, and Rex Raymond Parker. Following her passing, Bill married Vida LaRae Cardon in the Logan LDS Temple on June 9, 1967. They are the parents of three sons, Michael Hollis (Shelly) Parker, Joel Cardon Parker, and David Parker (deceased).

Bill was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in the bishopric, as High Priest Group Leader, and as Elders Quorum President. An important calling to him was that of Home Teacher, which he faithfully fulfilled until his health began to decline.

He was employed at Hill Air Force Base, retiring after 34 years of service. He then began his second career, a job he loved, driving for Bingham Livestock and Rich Grant Trucking, and retired a second time at age 80.

Bill is survived by his wife, LaRae; children, Billie Jean, Michael, Susanne, Rex, and Joel; a sister, Jennette Wood; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, son David, and his brothers, Faye, Robert, and Boyd.
