He was a former Shelby farmer and had moved to Grant four years ago where he had been employed at the Evergreen Haven Rest Home.
He was born Aug. 18, 1887 in White River Township on land which now is Meinert Park. At that time the point was called Huston's Landing. He married Elizabeth Butzer March 8, 1912. Mrs. Huston died July 23, 1946.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth of New Era; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Gill of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Mrs, George Phillips of Detroit; two brothers, Charles, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Fred of Muskegon; six sisters, Mrs. Bert Cramblet of California,
Mrs. Carl Agard of Trevor, Wis., Mrs. John Hall of Grant, Mrs. Mildred Lyttle, Mrs.
William Neis, both of Muskegon, and Mrs. Don Abbott of Detroit. Funeral - services were held Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Cooper Funeral Home, Shelby, with Rev. T. M. Wright and Mr. Huston's son-in-law. Rev. George Phillips, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
