Alton Virgil Buzbee, 88, of Jasper, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Sipsey. Ralph Townley and Del Buzbee will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. today. Collins-Burke Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Buzbee was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ethelene Buzbee; daughter, Kathie Buzbee; son, baby boy Buzbee; father, Robert C. Buzbee; mother, Dona Buzbee; brother, Thornton Buzbee; and sister, Ruby Burton.
He is survived by his daughters, Saundra Herig of Jasper and Joan Gereghty of Buford, Ga.; sons, Del Buzbee of Columbia, S.C. and Wayene Buzbee of Irvington; 11 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mike Buzbee, Chris Herig, Brett Talley, Robert Herig, Jeff Reece, Scott Buzbee, Brian Reese, Greg Buzbee and David Buzbee.
