Marjorie L. Wallace

Marjorie L. Wallace, 83, passed away on October 17, 2013 in her home at Maranatha Village. She was born on January 13, 1930 to Cecil (Lincoln) and John Rooney in Springfield, IL.

Marge's passing was sudden and unexpected, yet God had been preparing her and she was eagerly looking forward to that glorious day when she would walk through the gates of heaven and be forever in His presence.

Marge is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ken, her son Ken and his wife Arlene, her daughter Judy and her husband Rick, two grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Also, numerous nephews and nieces, who she adored, as well as her brother, John R. Rooney and his wife, Marilyn.

She was proceeded in death by her son, Neil, as well as her sisters Helen, Betty and Dorothy.

Her joys in life were sewing and singing, and in both she could be considered a virtuoso. As children, Ken, Judy and Neil always knew they were near home when they could hear Marge singing God's praises as she did her housework.

Visitation will be October 20 from 3 to 5 at Greenlawn East. The memorial service will be held Monday, October 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Maranatha Village with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the Neil R. Wallace scholarship fund at Evangel University.
