Delores Haberman
Delores Darlene (Becker) Haberman, 70, of Vancouver, Wash. and formerly of Lodi, died Oct. 10 in Vancouver, Wash. She was born May 3, 1934, in Leola, S.D., where she was raised and attended schools.

Mrs. Haberman worked as a teacher for grades one through eight at a rural school near Long Lake, S.D.

After marrying her husband, they relocated to Lead, S.D. and then to Lodi, where she was employed by California Canners and Growers. She and her son owned and operated John's Clothing Store for 24 years in Battle Ground, Wash.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Battle Ground. She enjoyed traveling to Tanzania for charitable purposes. Her goal was to build a school for the children there. She also enjoyed traveling for leisure, quilting, collecting, working, renovating properties, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her companion, Dave Jellum, of Battle Ground, Wash.; son, Brian Haberman, of Battle Ground; sisters, Inez Null, of Lodi, Marion Stoehr, of Paeonian Springs, Va., and Diane Beaver, of Woodbridge; stepfather, Clyde Howell, of Leola, S.D.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior E. Haberman, in 1982.

A funeral was held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Battle Ground, Wash., with burial at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash.

Layne's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
