She was born to Joseph and Lottie (Thomas) Davis on March 27, 1916 the youngest of five children. She grew up and attended school in Roosevelt, MN and she graduated from High School in Williams, MN.
On March 23, 1935 in Warroad, Minnesota, Alice married George A. Olson, they began their life together living south of Roosevelt. During World War II they moved to Portland, Oregon where she worked as a welder in the shipyards. They returned to Williams following the war and Alice helped George realize his desire to farm. After they raised their family, she was employed at Marvin Windows and Doors for several years. After selling the farm in 1979, they lived in Williams and wintered in Buckeye, Arizona for about 25 years. In 2002, they moved to Silver Bay, MN to live with their daughter, Gwen.
Alice was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Williams, MN
Survivors include her son, Norman (Joyce) Olson of Roseau, MN; her daughter, Gwendolyn Ronhovde of Silver Bay, MN; grandchildren, Bob, Joe, Nanci, Donnie, Vickie, Shawn, Rick, Jim, Gretchen, Chris, Jeff, Kim, Melanie, Randy and Tarryn; Alice was "Gram" to numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; her daughter, Norma Esparza; a son in-law, Manual Esparza; a son in-law, Robert Ronhovde; sisters, Beulah and Leah; her brothers, Roy, Raymond, and Eugene.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Williams at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral in the church.
She will be buried next to husband, George, in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Williams, MN.
