John H. Filler Sr., 92, of Penn Run, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. John passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. The son of James Blaine and Carrie (Zimmerman) Filler Sr., he was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Apollo, Pa. John was a charter member of the Harmony United Presbyterian Church and also a charter member of the Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Indiana-Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 313 for 64 years and was a 32nd-degree Mason and member of the Coudersport Consistory for 62 years. John was a veteran of World War II. After completing his military service, he was employed for 35 years as a tool and dye maker at FMC. He was a caregiver and helped many people. Mr. Filler was known as a handyman and was a blood donor who donated nine gallons and one pint of blood over the course of his life. Surviving are his children, Patsy L. Ray and husband James, Penn Run
