Frank Bertis Halligan, 95, of Tyler, died Oct. 16, 2013, at the home of his adopted daughter. He was born Sept. 14, 1918, the eighth of nine children of Cora and John Franklin Halligan, Wilmer, Ark.

In 1941, he joined the army and served in World War II until 1945. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Helen Draper Halligan; his parents; and his eight siblings.
Mr. Halligan is survived by his son, Gary Don Halligan; and adopted daughter, Karen Long. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral home, with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Burks Walker Tippit.
