Kevin Lynn Braziel, 51, of Monmouth passed away Sunday, October 13 at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland after complications from surgery. Kevin was born December 31, 1961 in Salem, Oregon to James and Julia (Jim & Judy) Braziel. Kevin grew up in Monmouth and graduated from Central High School in 1980 where he played basketball and baseball. He also played baseball for the Dallas American Legion team and Chemeketa Community College. He transferred to Oregon State University and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Kevin was an agent for Allstate and Farmers Insurance Companies for 22 years and was employed by Key Bank since 2009 as a Relationship Manager and most recently as a Mortgage Loan Officer. Kevin married his best friend and love of his life, Rachel Breyman, in 1998. Kevin was a proud father who enjoyed watching his sons play basketball and baseball, and his daughter's dance recitals. He also enjoyed watching OSU football (tailgating), Central High School sports, golfing, and teaching his children to fish.

Kevin is survived by his wife Rachel, and children Michael, Matthew, Max, and Calista. Other survivors include his mom Judy of Monmouth, sisters Karen Tofte of Corvallis, and Carol (John) Agard of Monmouth; nine nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer, in 1986 and dad, Jim, in 2002. Kevin was a very loving and caring husband, dad, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will forever be missed.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 17 at 1:00 pm, at First Baptist Church, 1505 Monmouth Street, Independence.
