Agnes E. Dettloff, age 80 of Caro, MI passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in Caro following a progressive illness.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 19th at 11 AM at the Avram Funeral Home with Pastor Mitchell Drew officiating.
Family will be present for visitation on Friday, October 18th from 3 PM-8 PM and on Saturday, October 19th from 10 AM- 11 AM at the Avram Funeral Home.
Internment will take place in East Dayton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility Activities Department.
Agnes was born April 26, 1933, the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes (Pozar) Metzger, in Mineral City, OH. The family moved to and lived in Columbia Corners near Unionville, MI. Agnes grew up and attended school in this area. Agnes lived in Tuscola County her entire life. Agnes met and married Darwin M.Tait in Caro, MI on May 3, 1952. Darwin preceded her in death on August 19, 1975. She then met and married (Harold) John Dettloff in Caro, MI. He, too, preceded her in death on June 15, 2003. Agnes was a homemaker with a love for cooking, gardening and needle work. Agnes was blessed with a special talent to create beautiful crafts and turn simple things of nature into objects of art. Most of all, Agnes loved spending time with her family
Agnes is survived by: her five children, Scott Tait of North Branch, Colin (Shannon) Tait of Grand Blanc, Pam Marshall of Roswell, GA, Vicky (Scott) Fox of Mayville and Lesa Coalson of Marietta, GA; brother, John (Nancy)Metzger of Essexville; sister-in-law, Virginia Metzger of Greer, SC; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Agnes is preceded in death by: her parents, Frank and Agnes Metzger; husbands, Darwin Tait and Harold Dettloff; sisters, Ann (Leo) Magiera, Mary (Don) Barriger and Vicky Hunyady; and brothers, Frank Metzger and Joe (Arlene) Metzger.
