Mr. Melvin E. Shoff
Melvin E. Shoff, 55, of North Jackson, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Friday morning in St. Elizabeth's hospital, Youngstown, following a three day illness.
Born in Austintown township, February 17, 1904, he was a son of Charles and Martha Leach Shoff, and was a life resident of the county. Mr. Shoff was a member of the First Federated church, and employed by the Carlson Electric Co., Youngstown.
Besides his wife, the former Virginia Nicholas, whom he married October 23, 1932, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ronald Baker of Lake Milton and Miss Marian Gail Shoff, at home; two sons, David E. of Youngstown and Charles M. at home; his mother, Mrs. Martha Shoff of Youngstown; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Raub of Poland, Mrs. Ruth Leonart of Youngstown, and Mrs. Pearl Noble of Niles, and a grandchild.
Funeral services, with the Rev. C. C. Bailey and Rev. L. J. Raymond officiating, were held Monday afternoon at the church and burial made in the North Jackson cemetery.
George Jones and Misses Irene and Anna Traffic of Erie, Mich., came Sunday to attend the funeral of Melvin Shoff, and were guests of his sister, Mrs. Edgar Nicholas.
