Deane King Schrimsher, 90, of Marietta, GA, died October 15, 2013. Funeral Services were held at Maple Avenue United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA, with the Reverend Jim Moore and the Reverend Johnny Foster officiating. Interment followed at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. All singing friends were invited to join the choir for the Funeral Service.

Mrs. Schrimsher was a homemaker and a life-long supporter of Southern Gospel Music. She attended Singing Schools as a young girl and taught herself to play the piano by practicing on an old pump organ. She was a long-time member of Rose Lane Baptist Church and a charter member of Macland Baptist Church and spent many years singing with the Cobb County Singing Class. She leaves to her family and many friends a great legacy of music and love for the Lord.

A native of Brilliant, AL, Mrs. Schrimsher was the daughter of the late Peter Melbern King and Emma Long King. She was preceded in death by her husband the late Jack Edward Schrimsher and seven sisters and brothers. She is survived by daughters Carol Vien (Peter) and Vicki Newton (Lamar), Marietta; grandchildren Jason Schrimsher (Ivy), Covington, GA, Amy Cox (John), Clearwater, FL, Brad Vien (Alexis), Crestwood, NY, Leah Kuznetsova (Pavel), Marietta, and Joel Vien (Heather), Sellersburg, IN; great-grandchildren Tristan Schrimsher, Kristian Kuznetsov, and Addison Cox; special friend Francis Leming; and many nieces and nephews.
