Carol Naomi McFarlane, age 78, of Baudette, MN, went home to be present with the Lord on February 10, 2009 at the LakeWood Health Center in Baudette.
Carol was born on April 18, 1930 in St. Paul, MN to Katherine (Lindberg) and Harold Bruber. She grew up and attended school in the Williams, MN area.
She and Donald McFarlane were married on July 26, 1947. Carol's main priority was her family. She stayed home to raise her eight children for most of her years. She was a devoted wife, and a wonderful, caring mother. In addition, she worked at the nursing home in Baudette for five years.
She was active in the Pitt Community Church, including Sunday school and Bible School teacher, was on the church board, and many other entities. She enjoyed playing scrabble, baking and canning, and spending time in the outdoors with nature. She will be remembered for her compassion, and her nature to put others before herself.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Baudette; children, Sherry (Dewayne) Kliewer of West Lynn, OR, Lane (Ron) Heagy of Cathlamet, WA, Craig (Kimberlie) of Swift, Kent (Brenda) of Warroad, Carter (Ronda) of Salol, Reed (Blanche) of Baudette, and Bradley of Cass Lake, MN, and; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Hugh; three infant daughters, Donetta, Linnea and Launa; sister, Shirley Mae; and brother, Harold, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 11 AM at the Pitt Community Church. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6-8 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Zippel Township.
