Honored Pioneer Is Laid To Rest

The funeral of Solomon Jackson took place in this city, Sunday afternoon, from the H. M. Maus Co. chapel, and was attended by a large number of friends and acquaintances of the deceased. Interment was in the Citizens cemetery, the remains being laid away beside those of his wife, who died a few years ago.

A noticeable of the obsequies was the large number of pioneers present, many arriving from outside points to pay their last respects to the memory of the man, who was held in the highest esteem for his upright citizenship.

Services were conducted by Rev. Clyde Deming of the Methodist Episcopal church. Mrs. A. B. Cox rendered two appropriate solos in an impressive manner with Miss Burk at the organ.

The pallbearers were all pioneers, F. G. Breeht, J. N. Rodenburg, A. J. Head, J. A. Tobin, Dan Hatz and H. T. Andrews.

Note: Mr. Jackson is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, with no visible headstone. Also buried close to his is his wife, Louisa (Lynch) Jackson and three of his son's, Ezra, Leslie and John Wesley Jackson.
