Karen M. Edel
Karen M. (Battaglia) Edel, 51, of Hoosac St., Johnstown, passed away March 31, 2004 after a short illness at her home. She was a life long resident of Gloversville and Johnstown. Born July 9, 1952 in Gloversville, the daughter of Arthur P. and Katherine M. Fonda Edel. Karen was a home health aide for many years. Survived by her mother Katherine Mc-Quatters and her husband William of Hagaman; her life long companion Louis Flint; four daughters, Michelle Cook and her husband Donald, Amy Vannostrand and her husband Melvin and Courtney Hamm, all of Gloversville and Danielle Hamm of Johnstown; two brothers, Arthur P. Edel Jr. and Francis Pitt of Gloversville; five grandchildren, Nicole Cook, Dylan Clute, Skosha Vannostrand, Kira Bishop and Cameron Hamm; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur P. Edel Sr. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Gloversville, where funeral services will be held Saturday 11 a.m. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
Note: Not sure why Battaglia appears to be her maiden name but clearly Edel was her maiden name.
