Life's Work/Service/Interests: In 1950, she married Rudger Irwin Adams in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They are the parents of twelve children and survived by nine of them. Merrie loved music, art, flowers and children, among other things. She was noted for the many silly songs, jokes and poems she taught her children. Shortly before her death, she sang "Mairzy Doats" with family members. Merrie referred to her impending death as her "graduation." She talked a lot about her sweetheart, who predeceased her by some 26 years, how wonderful he was, and how much she loved him. Merrie was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had been in Alzheimer's care and hospice there for several years and had previously lived in Pleasant Grove. Merrie Lucilla Stout Adams died October 14, 2013 of natural causes at the Alpine Valley Care Center in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was 85 years old.
Survived By: Nine children: Glorianne Muggli, Sherry Lee Bastian, Jonathon Wayne Adams, Jeffery Scott Adams, Melanie Muranaka, Holly Christine Berube, Timothy Irwin Adams, Jason Reid Adams, and Jeremy Lyman Adams; brothers: Allen and Mark Stout; sister, Stephanie Vagasky; Merrie has over 45 (and growing) grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, parents, three children: Carol Gay Adams, Gregory Irwin Adams and Tamara Lynne Lyman.
