A Crawfordsville resident was killed in an auto accident near Lebanon on Sep 11, 2013 when a semi jack-knifed in front of him while on his way to work.
Son of Robert Lee Sr. and Pauline Sawyer Cowell. He is survived by his mother; children Tyrone and Dwayne Cowell and Kierra Robinson; eight grandchildren; girlfriend JoAnna; brother Robert (Delain) Cowell, sisters Pamela (Reggie) Darby and Marsha Cowell; six nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father and his younger brother, Terral "Ty" Cowell.
He worked at Pearson Education Company in Lebanon, IN. He previously worked at Sony/DADC in Terre Haute and at Wal-Mart Optical in Crawfordsville.
After moving to Crawfordsville, he had lived here and Indianapolis for almost 10 years and then his last 10 years in Clinton, IN with his girlfriend and her family. Six months prior to his death, he had moved back to Crawfordsville.
Services were held Thursday, Sept. 19 at Mt. Ollie Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York.
A memorial service was held later on Saturday, October 19 at the Second Baptist Church in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
