ARTHUR Alden, age 86 of Garland, TX, formerly of Rockwall, TX, passed away November 30, 2004. He was born May 5, 1918, in Benton Harbor, MI, to Ola and Emma (Kingsley) Alden. Mr. Alden served in the Navy during World War II, and later worked as a carpenter at AMF Company. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and the Rowlett Bass Club. He loved to fish, and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Lora Alvis of Rockwall, TX; granddaughters: Sharon Young of Garland, TX, and Cindy Womack of Wylie, TX; great-grandson, Gary Alvis of Lucas, TX; great-granddaughter, Barbara Wilson of Nevada, TX; 9 other great-grandchildren; and close friend, Jeane Collins. His wife, Louise Alden, parents, and son-in-law, George Alvis preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held 7:00pm, Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Chambrel Retirement Community Center, 1245 Colonel St., Garland, TX, with Chaplain Fran Tynan officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1615 Stemmons Frwy., Dallas, TX, 75207.
