Venango Citizen Press, March 20, 1935:
Mrs. Lina Shorts, aged 74 years, died March 11, following a week's illness of pneumonia, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Homer Howe, in Titusville. Besides the daughter mentioned, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Guy Willey, of White Oak, and six grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Mary J. Myers, and four brothers, Bradley, of Titusville; Charles, of Coal Hill; Warren, of Cooperstown; and Jacob and Ray of this place. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, at Bradleytown church, with her pastor, Rev. Murray, in charge. Mrs. Albert Morse and Mrs. Boutwell sang several hymns. Interment was made in Sunville cemetery and the following acted as pall-bearers: W.P. and John E. Williams, B.F. and Glenn Collins, S.B. Smith and J.B. Arters.
