Doris Caroline Montgomery 96, of Yuba City passed away October 13, 2013. Born February 7, 1917 in Granite, OK, she has been a Yuba- Sutter resident for 45 years. Doris was the wife of a WWII veteran, a lifelong homemaker and served as a Fremont-Rideout Hospital Auxiliary Pink Lady for 25 years. Doris is survived by her sons, Monty Montgomery (Donna) and John L. Montgomery (Machelle); daughter, Debbie Carmack, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late Husband of 76 years, Olen Montgomery and son- in-law, Steve Carmack. She was such a great example of a caring, sweet, selfless and loyal pure soul. She taught all of us to believe we could be anything we wanted to be. Visitation will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Services will be conducted Friday, October 18, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Sutter Cemetery Memorial Building with Pastor Bill Hammond, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ullrey Memorial Chapel.
