He married the former Lola V. Baggerly in 1945, and she died in 1976.
Mr. Gantt had resided in Riverton since 1913.
For many years, he was employed by the Illinois Termanal Railroad until his retirement in 1961.
He was a member of the Riverton Christian Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one son, James D. Guy, one daughter, Ruby Myers, seven brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Doris) Weber, of Riverton; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Viola Gantt, of Springfield; and Mrs. Fred (Della) Antonacci, of R.R. 9, Springfield; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews.
Services were at Staab Funeral Home.
Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
