Memorial services will be at The Good Shepherd Chapel in Sauk Rapids for Laura H. Schroeder, age 88, of Sauk Rapids, who died Saturday at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Sauk Rapids. Chaplain Don Wilke will officiate and burial will be in Benton County Cemetery in Sauk Rapids. Laura was born March 19, 1925 in Sauk Rapids to Fred & Adelaide (Doeden) Haehnel. She married Raymond Schroeder on October 4, 1941 at Peace United Church of Christ in St. Cloud. Laura was a lifelong resident of Benton County and worked in housekeeping at St. Scholastica for 10 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with others and listening to TWINS games on the radio.Survivors include her children, Melvin (JoAnn) Schroeder of Little Falls, Lois Convey of Victoria, Australia; brothers, Verner Haehnel of Pine River, Alfred Haehnel of Sauk Rapids and Ernest Haehnel of Motley; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond on March 1, 1972; son, Larry; son-in-law, Brian Convey and brother, Erwin Haehnel.
