Mary Kathryn Kelly, daughter of Dennis and Katherine Kelly, was born July 11, 1902, at Exeter Neb., and passed away very suddenly October 11, 1976, at the age of 74 year and 3 months.

Katheryn was one of a family of eight children, having five brothers and two sisters, five of whom preceded her in death, John Elizabeth (Mrs. William Becker Sr.), Edward in World War I and his twin sister, Edna, and a brother, Henry, both who died in infancy.

She received her elementary school education in rural districts 5 and 72 and St. Stephen's school, Exeter. She then attended high school at St. Ursula Convent in York and Immaculate Conception Academy for girls in Hastings. She was a graduate of the Grand Island School of Business and was employed as a stenographer in Hastings and Lincoln for a number of years. When her mother's health failed, she returned to Exeter to help her aging parents and cared for them lovingly until their deaths.

On November 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to William Wilger in St. Stephen's Church. Bill and Kathryn have since made their home in Exeter.

In November of 1971, they were pleasantly surprised on their silver wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception given by their children and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kathryn Wilger was devoted to her home, family and church, and was greatly interested in all community affairs. She was a member of St. Stephen's Altar Society and Sewing circle and of the American Legion Auxiliary of which she was a gold star member.

Kathryn was a kind and loving person and had a special love for little children. She will be greatly missed by all her relatives, friends and neighbors.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, William; step-son, Kenneth; daughter-in-law, Delores, and two grandchildren, Julie and Jay; two brothers, James and Leo of Exeter; two sisters-in-law, a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning, October 14, in St. Stephen's Church with Father Urban Schmitt of Grafton officiating.

Pallbearers were six grandnephews, John P. Hassler and Richard W. Eckles of Lincoln, Thomas W. Hassler of Fairmont and Dennis B. Volkmer, Robert W. Becker and Ronald J. Ruhl, Exeter.

Interment was in the Exeter Cemetery.
