FROST
Daniel Floyd, age 90 of Elco, Illinois passed away Tuesday, June 26, 1990 at 12:30 PM at the Lifecare Center in Jonesboro. He was born in Walker County, Alabama, on Nov 2, 1899, the son of Julius Edward and Adonza Griffen Frost. He was one of six children, four brothers and two sisters. He married Sarah Kirk on April 6, 1919. She preceded him in death on Feb 4, 1925. Mr. Frost moved from Alabama to Benton, IL in 1920 and worked as a coal miner for more than two decades. On Oct 5, 1927, he married Alla Mae Bowden. On March 11, 1943. Mr. Frost moved his family from Illinois to Miami, Fl where he gained employment as Switchman of the Seaboard Railroad. He eventually retired from this position. On November 24, 1974, Daniel married Anna Mae Pickett, a lifelong friend from Elco, IL. They resided since that time at her home. After nearly ninety years of sound physical and mental health, Mr. Frost entered the Lifecare Center of Jonesboro, IL and was a resident there when he passed away. Survivors include his wife, Anna Mae of Elco, two sons, James Daniel Frost of Tucker, Ga and Richard Dean Frost of Miami , Fl, 5 daughters, Flora Garrison of Bridgeton, NJ, Virginia Ruth Tomsey of Miami, FL. Adonza Crusius of Canton, NC, Priscilla Steward of Dallas, TX and Serita McFarling of California, Maryland, 24 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, two step sons, Lester Pickett and Jim Pickett, both of Tamms, 2 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Clayton Frost and a daughter Helen Donita Pohl. Mr Frost attended the Elco United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the Church of God of Anderson, IN. Funeral services for Daniel Frost were held Friday, June 29 at 11:00 AM at the Elco United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Canada officiating. Internment will be made in St. John’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Board of the Church of God of Anderson, IN
