Samuel W. Kelley, Sr. Dies At Monticello; Final Rites Sunday
MONTICELLO - Samuel W. Kelley, Sr., 87, of 614 N. Railroad St., died at 10:40 a.m. Friday at White County Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient there since Monday. The retired farmer had lived in this community most of his life. Born April 13, 1876, in Lafayette, he was the son of Moses and Rhoda Kelley. His marriage in 1902 was to Grace Moore, who died in 1938.
Survivors are seven sons, Russell of Lucerne, Harry and Samuel, Jr. of Monticello, Perry of Lafayette, Oscar of Logansport, George of Idaville and Glen of Monticello; three daughters, Miss Laura Kelley at home, Mrs. Nellie Clark, Gilmer, Texas, and Mrs. Ruth Greer, Kokomo. Two children preceded him in death. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a half sister.
Friends may call at Miller Funeral Home after noon today. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Virden Graham will officiate and burial will be in Davis Cemetery at Burnettsville.
