Mary Alice Franklin Dace, 71, of Heber Springs died Sunday, February 7, 1999, after an eight-month illness. The daughter of Chester A. and Mittie Belle Dickson Franklin, she was born August 25, 1927, near Berea in Ashley County. A homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs, she was formerly an employee of the Heber Springs schools and the Circle of Love Child Care Center. She had taught Sunday School to children and youth for more than 35 years. She and her family had lived in Heber Springs since 1977. Survivors are her husband, Donald F. Dace; three daughters, Sarah McMullen of Des Arc, Janna Beall of Irving, TX, and Rebecca J. Dace of Denver, CO; a sister, Lois F. Moyers of Hamburg; two sons-in-law, Byron Beall and Eddie McMullen; and four grandchildren. Funeral services are Wednesday, February 10, at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs with Dr. Michael Montalbano officiating. Pallbearers will be Tommy Vaughn, Doyle Harrelson, Kendall Logan, Leon McAnear, James Wolfe, Louis Lee, Bob Edwards, and Bill Stover. Visitation will be at the Olmstead Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 9. Burial follow services at the Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs or to the Circle of Love Child Care Center of Heber Springs.
