Mr. Haywood Dixon, a highly respected farmer, who lives a few miles from here died at his home last Saturday morning and was buried Sunday afternoon. Mr. Dixon was 82 years old and had lived a life of usefulness in the neighborhood, having reared to man-hood several children. He was a member of the Elevation Methodist church, and the funeral and burial was conducted by Rev. J. M. Daniel, assisted by Rev. J. T. Stanford. The funeral was attended by perhaps as large a crowd as ever assembled at a funeral in Johnston County.
