Born in Babyshead, Texas, Julia was the youngest of 7 children

She married Hugh L. Hartgraves & had two children: H.L. Hartgraves II, and Senora (Hartgraves) Turner.

Later on she married the only grandfather I knew, Fred Freeman (link below), whom we loved and called Big Daddy.

She raised 3 of Senora's (my mom) oldest children and then helped raise some of her great grandchildren.

My grandmother was a simple, but strong woman and had faith in her God. We loved her dearly. My Grandmother was a strong woman. Very meticulous in her housework and cooking.
Our home was always sparkling clean as were our clothes.
My grandmother was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Listed with her nickname, Jewel Freeman was initiated in 1934 and was a member until May, 31, 1964.

My Grandmothers home was always immaculate and spotless. She always prepared three meals each day and made sure the children had clean , ironed clothes. She was a strong beautiful woman who had very firm ideas about right and wrong. She loved all children and would take in the children of strangers to live with us.
Thank you Bid for all you did for me.
Love,
Cheyrl
