Martha Marie (Greene) Allmon was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Fremonte, Mo., to Fred O. and Alta M. (Blunt) Greene. Martha passed away Dec. 3, 2002, Lake Jackson, Tex., at the age of 73.
She graduated from Fremont High School and married Jackie Lee Allmon on May 9, 1953, in Salem, Ark. They met on a Saturday and were married on the next Saturday. To this union four children were born; Randy, Theresa, Sandra, and Jackie.
Martha is survived by her husband Jackie Allmon, of Winona; one son, Randy D. Allmon and his wife Norma of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Theresa L. (Allmon) Vernon and her husband James of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sandra R. (Allmon) Roffers and her husband Gene, of Big Springs, Tex., and Jackie M. (Allmon) Blackwell, of Salem, Mo., five grandchildren, Juliet Allmon, Denver Blackwell, Dustin Blackwell, Michael Roffers and Megan Roffers; two brothers, Fred O. Greene and his wife Laura of Sebree, Ky., and Gilbert Greene and his wife Ruth, of Omaha, Neb., and one sister, Hazel Irene Willis, of Rolla, Mo.
Martha Marie was a loving Air Force wife for 49 years. She was also devoted, caring and compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona with Rev. Darrell Derryberry officiating. Interment was in the Pinelawn Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Winona.
