Lon Freeman, 77, of the Wesser Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 22, 2013 at his residence. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Rev. Lee and Eva Mashburn Freeman. He was a member of Silvermine Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 10 siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Dills Freeman; three children, Kenneth Freeman and wife Nancy, Lawrence Freeman and wife Crystal, and Bernice Mashburn and husband Eddie all of Bryson City; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; one sister Imogene Gilstrap and husband Marion of Pickens, SC.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Lindsay and Rev. Marlin McMahan will officiate with burial in the Euchella Cemetery.
