Conflicting information is found about his birth location. His death certificate shows Paradise [Mahoning Co.] Ohio; however his parents were married in Wayne Co., Ohio in 1856, the family was living in Green, Wayne Co. in 1870, and his daughter's delayed birth certificate named Wayne Co., as her father's birthplace. The family has not been located in the 1860 U.S. census in either Wayne or Mahoning county.
