Lucy L Dupras:
Mrs. Lucy Dupras, 64, whose son, Eugene, was one of the first Two Rivers boys killed in action in France in World War I, died Friday afternoon at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Lukes church, Two Rivers. The Body may be viewed at the Klein and Stangel, Inc., funeral home, where the rosary will be recited Sunday night.
Mrs. Dupras, widow of Regis Dupras, who died in May, 1943, was born in 1881 in Ishpeming, Mich. She was married to Regis Dupras at Coleman in 1898, where the couple operated a farm. The family moved to Two Rivers in 1911. Mrs. Dupras always an active member of the Gold Star Mothers’ organization, never failed to participate in Memorial day services. She was also an active member of the Altar society at St. Lukes.
Surviving is one son, Julius Dupras of Manitowoc, and six daughters, Mrs. Emma Durocher of Two Rivers, Sister Joan of Arc (Margaret), a teacher in the Brother Dutton Catholic school at Beloit; Sister Mary Eugene (Dorothy), a teacher in St. Catherine’s Catholic school at Catherine, Kansas, Mrs. Cecelia Strauss of Milwaukee, Mrs. Edith Simonich of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Josephine O’Grady of Hales Corners. There are 18 grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Rose Niquette of Manitowoc, Mrs. F. Griphy and Mrs. Alfred Jackemann of Montreal, Canada, Mrs. Francis Larson of Chicago and two brothers, Urban Brabant of Milwaukee and John Brabant of Iron River, Mich.
