HOLDEN PIONEER DIES

Mrs. Sophia Wood of Holden died Monday, April 10th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Shaw. She was born in Fillmore, March 31, 1854. She married Charles Wood of Holden at the age of 19 and has lived in Holden ever since, where she and her husband were good industrious citizens, doing much to help in the development of the community. She is survived by the following children; Mrs. Venus Croither of Elsinore, Mrs. Ella Shaw of Holden, Mrs. Gertrude Anderson, Richfield, Mrs. Jane Hicks, Salt Lake City, Richard L. Wood, Wells, Nevada, Joseph E. Wood, Salt Lake City and Rulon Wood, Los Angeles. She has ten children, 39 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Holden, April 13th under the direction of Bishop Mark Bennett. Interment was in the Holden cemetery.

Married Charles Wood Mar 31 1872 in Meadow Mllrd territory of Ut (Ut). Sealed May 20 1872 in the Endowment House.

HOLDEN PIONEER DIES
