Theresa M. (Rhodes) Burk-Wilt, 93, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Catherine (Burket) Rhodes. She married David Harold Burk in January 1940, and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1958. She then married Melvin J. Wilt in 1961, and he also preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1991.
Surviving are two children: John (Vicki Teegardin) Burk and Mary (Robert) Bowser, both of Duncansville; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolores Kelso of Manteca, Calif.; and numerous stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers.
Theresa retired from the Presbyterian Home, where she worked in housekeeping. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where she, along with her husband, Melvin, was in charge of opening the church in the mornings for many years. She enjoyed playing dominoes and checkers.
There will be no public viewing. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Father Anthony Legarski officiating. Interment will be at New St. Mary's Cemetery.
