Earl Barnett, 58, of 249 W. Union St., Edwardsville, died on Friday, Aug. 19, 1977, in the Oliver Anderson Hospital.
He was born on July 6, 1919, in Missouri, a son of the late Henry and Elvira George Barnett. On March 16, 1946, in Edwardsville, he was married to Dorothy Rohrkaste, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jerry Barnett of Maryville, Norman Barnett of Shipman, and Terry Barnett of Edwardsville, eight grandchildren, one brother, Joe Barnett of Troy, and three sisters, Mrs. Nora Murphy of Collinsville, Mrs. Emma Butler of Lebanon, Mo., and Mrs. Stella Kyle of Falls City, Ore.
Mr. Barnett was employed by the Mechanics Planing Mills, Inc., of Edwardsville.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday in the Pletcher Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Mrs. Rose Gusewelle will be the reader for the Christian Science service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Virgil Robinson, Everett Eckert, Orville Marti, Carl Reiter, Henry Sievers and Gerald Suhre.
