Paul L. Eldridge, 75, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Crossville and Clio, MI, passed away March 4, 2005, at Hope Hospice of Cape Coral, FL. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at First Church of the Nazarene, 2565 N. Main Street, Crossville, with Pastor Dale Bailey officiating. Burial took place in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, MI, with a military graveside service under the auspices of VFW Post #822 Honor Guard.
Mr. Eldridge was born May 9, 1929 in Monterey, TN.
He served six years in the U.S. Army and also in the Tennessee State Guard from 1991 to 2001. He married Ardyth Barber on Jan. 2, 1954 in Flint, MI. He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Florida and also in Crossville, as well as New Covenant Free Methodist Church in Clio, MI. He retired from GM's Service Parts Operation in Swartz Creek, MI, and was a member of UAW Local #659. After retirement, he worked at Covenant Hills Camp, Otisville, MI, for nine years before moving to Tennessee and Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Ardyth; son, David and wife Patricia of Grand Blanc, MI; daughters, Judy and husband Jay Irwin of Cape Coral, FL and Nancy and husband Joe Mulder of Grand Ledge, MI; grandchildren, Heather and husband John Hocken and Nicole Eldridge; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; brother Bill and wife Sue of Crossville; two special cousins, Carl and wife Odene Sutton and Bufford and wife Margie, all of Crossville; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Eldridge; and brothers, Tom and Eugene.
