Obituary

Miss N. E. F. Boydston was born in Woodward[sic] Co., Illinois Dec. 25, 1844. She died at the home of her daughter near Mulhall, July 13th., 1909, at the age of 64 years, 6 months and 18 days.

She was married to David Maple in Knox Co. Illinois in December 1868.

Five children were born to this union, all living, and all except David C. were present at the funeral and with their mother to minister to her, that her going out of this world might be attended with as little suffering as possible. For the past twelve months she was an intense sufferer. Her patience in it all was marvelous. Some few weeks ago she came to the home of her daughter Mrs. Detwiler for a brief visit but was unable to return to her own home.

From the home of her daughter she was taken by our Father to the Home on high where sorrows and suffering is no more.

Mrs. Maple came to Oklahoma at the opening in 1889 and settled with her husband (deceased in June 1904) on a claim near Mulhall, which was her home until her death. Her home was her kingdom, and her children her joy. She was a loving mother, a kind friend, a good neighbor, and an earnest truthful Christian. Mother Maple will be missed by the children, and grandchildren and many friends. We commend these all to the kind care of Him who knoweth how to comfort us all in our affliction. The funeral was held from the home of Mrs. Detwiler. It was conducted by Rev. J. K. Miller.

The remains were laid to rest in Rose Lawn cemetery.

To them were born five children, all survive, and all were present at the funeral, except David. They are John, Frank, Nannie Detwiler, Maggie Lemmon and David. From Illinois they removed to Kansas in 1876, coming from Kansas to Oklahoma in December 1889, the year of the opening, taking the homestead which has been the family home for the past twenty years. Mrs. Maple was much devoted to her home, and the care and comfort of her children, she gave her time and loving care.

She had been active until her last sickness during which she had received the care of her daughters and sons. The funeral took place from the residence of George Detwiler Tuesday afternoon, July 13, Rev. Jas. K. Miller officiating. The burial took place beside her husband in Rose Lawn Cemetery.

The sons, daughters and brothers of Mrs. Maple wish, through THE ENTERPRISE. to express their gratitude to all the kind friends and neighbors who gave assistance and offered consolation during the illness and at the death and burial of the dear departed one.
