Frances Cobble Francis Lindsay

Born May 20, 1915 in Rusk, Texas where she lived until moving to Austin in 1945 with her husband, Dr. George P Francis. Frances and George raised their family of six children in Austin. They were married for forty-one years until his death in 1975. In 1984, Frances married Benjamin W. Lindsay of Austin and were married twenty-one years until his death in 2005.

Preceded in her death were her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Cobble; husband, Dr. George P Francis; husband, Ben W Lindsay; children, Richard Francis, Charlotte Francis Hunter, James (Jim) Francis, David Francis and John Timothy (Tim) Francis; sisters, Mary Cobble Ray and Angeline Cobble Spivey. Frances is survived by her children Thomas P Francis and wife, Nelda, Phyllis Francis Waddle and husband, Dan, Becky Lindsay Kent and husband, Kelvin, Larry Lindsay and wife, Rebecca; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a niece and two nephews.

Frances was a long time active member of Tarrytown United Methodist Church as well as several groups in Ouray, Colorado where she and Ben spent their summers for 20 years.

The family thanks the staff at Westminster Manor and Hospice Austin for their loving care.

Memorial Services will be held at Tarrytown United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 13 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tarrytown United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or a charity of your choice.
