"Maxine was born Dec. 8, 1920, in the Selden community in Erath County to Alex and Norma Sublett. She graduated from Stephenville High School and Tarleton State College. She married Garth B. Hester on Feb. 21, 1942, in Muskogee, Okla.
Maxine worked for the Fort Worth Press, Yearbook Encyclopedia and Avon Products. She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother, and a friend to many people. She professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a faithful member of Handley Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garth B. Hester; parents; and brothers, Ivan, Tommie, Alex Wayne and Don Sublett."
Survivors: 1 daughter; 1 son; several nieces and nephews.
