EPWORTH, Iowa - Abbie A. Ament, 22, of 203 First St. SE, Epworth, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, in Dubuque.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, Placid, with the Rev. Richard Ament and the Rev. Richard Kuhn officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her grandparents in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, 490 Field of Dreams Way, Dyersville, where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.

Abbie worked at Lutheran Social Services in Dubuque.

She was born on June 28, 1982, in Dubuque, daughter of William and Julie (Arlen) Ament. She was a 2000 graduate of Western Dubuque High School, Epworth. She also was a graduate of Capri College, Dubuque.

She was a member of St. John's Parish in Placid.

She had many friends; she was a very loving and giving person.

Surviving are her parents, William and Julie Ament, of Epworth; a brother, Adam Ament, at home; her paternal grandmother, Alice Ament, of Dyersville; her paternal great-grandmother, Sarah Then, of Dyersville; several aunts and uncles, Pete and Janie Ament, Dan and Deb Ament, Gretta Ament and Larry and Luetta Bockenstedt, all of Dyersville, Norb and Colleen Janning, of Le Mars, Ron and Donna Ament, of Farley, Terry and Janell Deutmeyer, of Petersburg, Trevor and Mary Weinhold, of Nicholasville, Ky., Lloyd and Lea Ament and Charlie and Julie Arlen, all of New Vienna, Paula Ament, of Odenton, Md., Rosene and Frank Moreland and Connie and Allan Connolly, all of Dubuque, Marlene and Glenn Stoner, of Charlottesville, Va., Jayne and Gerald Houtakker, of Cuba City, Wis., John and Dana Arlen, of Wilton, Rick and Caroline Arlen, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Cindy and Robert Bartels, of Durango, Darwin and Becky Arlen, of Hartford, N.Y., Denise McNatt, of Seattle, Chris and Bruce Dokkebakken, of Big Lake, Minn., Russell

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Paul Ament; and her maternal grandparents, Charles and Geneva Arlen.

An Abbie A. Ament Memorial Fund has been established.
