A lifelong resident of Boykins, Buck was the son of the late Mildred Bolton and Marvin Randolph Lassiter Sr. He was a retired Boykins town sergeant, a former National Guardsman, and a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Buck was in the grocery business in Boykins for 30 years before going into law enforcement at age 50. He was a past member and honorary member of the Boykins Fire and Rescue Squad.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Thomas Lassiter and Cletus Wilton Lassiter; a sister, Pat L. Lewis and husband Bobby; three grandchildren, Angela Nicole Lassiter, Garrett Wilton Lassiter and Ashley Elizabeth Lassiter; a nephew, Bill Lewis and wife Michelle; and a great-niece, Kelby Lewis, all of Boykins.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Boykins Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Boykins, and other times at the home of Pat and Bobby Lewis, 32391 Main St., Boykins.
