Mrs. Lyda Ackerman, daughter of James and Elizabeth Spence, was born November 5, 1874, and died Saturday night, February 1st, in the Schmidt Clinic, in Robinson, Illinois, at the age of 72 years, two months and twenty-six days.
Mrs. Ackerman had been a resident of Woodsfield until January 19 when she left to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lafferre in Robinson. She took seriously ill on the 22nd.
On November 13, 1923, she was united in marriage with Charles Ackerman who preceded her in death June 10, 1945.
Surviving are the one daughter, Mrs. Lafferre, and one stepdaughter, Mrs. Louis R. Schumacher, of Woodsfield; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Denbow, of Lewisville; two brothers, James Spence, of Lewisville, Ohio, and Charles Spence, of Ashland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Galbraith funeral home on Wednesday afternoon, at two o’clock, with the Reverend Walter Trogler, of St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiating. Burial was made beside her husband in Oaklawn cemetery, Woodsfield, Ohio.
