Nathaniel P. Moody was the son of Humphrey Moody and Abigail Peasley. His first wife was Susan Griffin and his second wife was Catherine (maybe Tracy). He served with the 9th Massachusetts Militia in the Revolutionary War. In January 1787 he served as a volunteer in a Militia Unit under General Lincoln to put down Daniel Shay's Rebellion. He was also the first settler in Rome Pa.
