McKINNEY - A life Celebration for 101 year-old Addie Lena Boddie of McKinney, formerly a long time resident of Sherman, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Harmony Baptist Church located at 2111 E. Tuck St in Sherman. Rev. Steve Lewis will officiate with Rev. Dewight Thomas as eulogist. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Public Visitation will be on Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Cravens Funeral Home, located at 225 W. Brockett St in Sherman.

Ms. Boddie was born Addie Lena Southern in Durant, Okla. on May 5, 1912 to the parentage of John H. and Addie R. Southern. After her birth, the Southern family moved to Sherman, Texas, where Addie received her formal education, and was a member of the Fred Douglass graduating class of 1932. Shortly after graduation, Addie married her high school sweetheart, Mr. William Amos Boddie, Jr. Addie was employed as an insurance agent for the Universal Insurance Company.

On Thursday, October 3, 2013, Ms. Addie Lena Boddie entered into eternal life from the Baybrooke Village Care & Rehab Center in McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her husband and four children.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosie Moorman and husband Louis of Frisco, Texas along with several grand, great-grand, and great-greatgrandchildren, other family members and friends.

The Boddie Family is under the Personal Care of the Cravens Funeral Home in Sherman.
