MRS. ELSIE MAE PENDERGRASS REED, the beloved daughter of Deacon James and the late Mrs. Ruth Dingle Pendergrass, was born on March 15,1946 in Manning, South Carolina.
Elsie was educated in the Public Schools of Clarendon County. In 1967 Elsie graduated from Manning Training School.
Elsie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in her young adult life and Elsie was a faithful member of The Progressive Church of Jesus in Florence, South Carolina. Elsie served as a Secretary and General Secretary of The Church.
Elsie was United in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Andrew Mack Reed and their union was blessed with nine children. Elsie was a devoted wife and loving mother. Elsie was a good nature person and made numerous of friends wherever she went and Elsie shall be sincerely missed by her entire family, Church family and dear friends. Two children preceded her in death: Angela and Perry Pendergrass.
On Monday, April 1,1996 at her residence, Our Heavenly Father who is perfect in all action called our beloved Mrs. Elsie Pendergrass Reed into His everlasting Heavenly Home.

Reed of Bennettsville, South Carolina; her father and step-mother~ Deacon James and Mrs. Mildred G. Pendergrass of Manning, South Carolina; nine brothers and sisters~ Mrs. Rosa(James)Goodwin of Eastover, South Carolina, Mrs. Ethel(James)Fulton and Mrs. Charlotte (Steve)McCreedy both of Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. Mamie (Johnny)McFadden, Mr.Jerome(Carolyn)Pendergrass, Mr. James (Roberta)Pendergrass and Mr. Charles(Rosa)Pendergrass all of Manning, South Carolina, Mrs. Helen(Timothy)Hamlet of Kingstree, South Carolina and Mrs. Bobbie Nell(George)Wilson of Summerton, South Carolina; seven grandchildren~ Demetria, Dontrell, Jonathan, Coretta, Shakendra, Shatresa and Allison all of Manning, South Carolina; her father-in-law~ Mr. Mack J. Reed of Salters, South Carolina; two additional brothers-in-law~ Mr. John L. Reed of Thomasville, North Carolina and Mr. Wilson Burgess of Turbeville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and many of dear friends.
