Betty Lou Pickerign, age 70 of Menomonie, Wisconsin died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, September 29, 2013.

Betty was born May 7, 1943 in Antioch, Illinois to Henry M. and Lucille K. (Ayers) Skogstad. She graduated from Antioch High School and previously attended Salem schools. She went on to get her degree from Eau Claire Technical Institute with achievements in Administrative Assistant and Hospitality Management. Betty had worked for The Cerebral Palsy Foundation and also was a clerk at the Super Valu. She had a love for flowers and Cedarbrook Church of Menomonie was very important to her.

Betty is survived by her mother, Lucille Skogstad of Ladysmith;
three children, Sandy (Dennis) Thompson of Columbia, MO,
Cheryl L. (Richard) Butler of OK and
Rick (Tracey) Buxton of Spring Valley;
seven grandchildren;
four great grandchildren;
brothers and sisters,
Milford (Beverly) Skogstad of Boomer, NC,
Henry Skogstad Jr. of Chicago,
Harold (Linda) Skogstad of Exeland,
Tom (Bonita) Skogstad of Ladysmith,
Jane Tomczak of Ocala, FL,
Bonnie (Ray) Isaacs of Rice Lake,
Lorna Skogstad of Ladysmith,
special friends, Nancy Hoff and Scoot Miller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Skogstad; and one son, Eugene Buxton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Remy Diederich officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie.
